It was a great weekend for the Webolos!

The scouts also had time to explore the City of Rocks.

The scouts set up a challenge course using 2 X 4s and ropes.  Barrow mounted the "monkey bridge" and had no problem crossing to the other side.

The Webolos were invited to camp with the Boy Scouts at the City of Rocks

Barrow and William enjoyed watching the races at the Arroyo Seco racetrack. They met one of the race car drivers and got to sit in his driver seat!

Barrow made a presentation to his class about the Titanic. Mrs. Brewington, his teacher, said he was a "natural" presenting to the group.

Barrow and his buddy Lowell signed up for enrichment, and Cooking with Felipe.  What fun!

What a great weekend, a wonderful experience, and a special time with friends.

They had a few unexpected challenges that they had to overcome.

At the top of the mountain, they found this beautiful lake.

They had some hard hikes on Saturday and Sunday, but made sure to stop and rest along the way.

While it was sunny for most of the trip, they had rain during the first night, and hiked through a hail storm.

They had some beautiful scenery along the way.

The first night, they stayed in a hotel, then they started bright and early hiking in the San Juan National Forest.  Barrow carried a backpack on his back the entire trip.

Labor Day weekend, Dad, Caroline and Barrow met the Steve, Emma, Ruth and Abby Wong in Colorado for a weekend of backpacking and camping...what an adventure!
